📣 WHAT EVERYONE’S TALKING ABOUT

• ICYMI - Hacks to automatically add every single offer to your credit cards

• Wyndham has the following member’s promotion: 10%-20% off on 1-3+ night stays. Book by 02/01 and stay by 05/31.

• Bilt, a no-annual-fee card primarily used to make rent payments, plans to expand into mortgage payments. Previously, the Wells Fargo-issued Bilt card could only be used for WF mortgages, so this is great news.

• Bilt also recently started allowing rent payments with any credit card, though a 3% fee applies (Plastiq charges 2.9%). We’ll expand on this next week. (via DDG)

• Alaska Airlines has 30% off flights for select city pairs booked by 01/31 (LAST DAY) with promo THANKYOU30. Travel between 02/08 - 03/13 with some blackout dates.

• Marriott has a new members promotion giving 1k bonus points and 1 Elite Night Credit per night. Register here by 04/15.

• Hyatt has a promo with Etihad to earn 1k points on eligible Hyatt stays. You can register here by 02/29 and stay between 02/01 - 03/30. Sign up for Etihad here.

🧠 CREDIT CARD STRATS/HACKS/TRICKS
Free Discounts On Major Brands via Fluz

Gift cards are popular in the churning space because you can front-load spend and they’re frequently discounted to some degree. There are also channels to resell them at relatively breakeven.

There’s a popular app called Fluz which specializes in gift cards.

Fluz allows you to buy nearly any denomination of branded gift cards for immediate use while earning cash back (subject to brand limits).

Here’s an example: I’m shopping online at Target and my total is $76.13. I can go to Fluz and buy a $76.13 gift card, get extra cashback through Fluz (currently up to 3.5% for Target), and immediately use that gift card to check out online.

Additionally, there are Fluz Parties aka group buy opportunities for even larger discounts.

Here’s an example: On 02/01, a Fluz Party for DoorDash allows you to earn up to 12% cash back (referral). Here’s how it works:

  • If there are 100+ shoppers, the offer is “unlocked” and you earn 9% - 12% back depending on your payment method

  • Otherwise, the offer remains “locked” and you earn 7% - 10% depending on the payment method

  • Denominations are more limited

Fluz Parties are usually announced in advance and require you to RSVP in the app to participate when the offer is live.

Many of the largest, most useful brands are on the platform: Amazon, Instacart, Uber, Chevron, etc. It’s pretty comprehensive.

Taking a few minutes to add Fluz into your check-out flow could lead to substantial savings that are frequently in the 5% - 10% range, sometimes even more. Learn more below (referral).

⏳️ FINAL BOARDING CALL - TIME-SENSITIVE
LAST DAY for AMEX Business Gold Before Annual Fee Goes Up

Today is the last chance to get the AMEX Business Gold card at the original annual fee. Tomorrow, on 02/01, it jumps up to $375.

We’ve discussed the card, benefits, and how to extract maximum value and come out net positive on the old annual fee.

Tomorrow, on 02/01, Bilt is offering Air Canada Aeroplan transfer bonuses of 75-150% depending on your Bilt status.

Aeroplan is a program that offers tremendous value when it comes to award flights and is a solid option for transferring points. They have nearly 50 partner airlines, meaning you have route options to nearly anywhere in the world.

Some example business class redemptions:

• US to Europe - 70k
• US to Korea/Japan/Taipei - 75k
• US to rest of Asia - 85k
• US to Australia - 110k
• US to New Zealand - 85k

Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless 5-Night Certificate Offer is Back

The Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless 5-night certificate (up to 50k points each) offer is back, for a total value of 250k points. These certificates can each be topped off with an additional 15k points, meaning you can get up to a 65k/night hotel.

It’s a solid option if you have a redemption in mind, but may not be worth the 5/24 slot if you’re still on the Ink train.

There are solid redemption opportunities though, including the Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa:

For more hotel inspiration, check out FM’s post on huge value opportunities with the 50k certificates.

WARNING: Chase has been sending out 1099-MISC for several CC card sign-up bonuses, including these 50k night certificates. Whether or not you choose to report these as income is up to you, but read up on the potential risks.

The general rule is that sign-up bonuses requiring spend are considered rebates and therefore not taxable. Keep an eye on developments as this will set a tax precedent and inevitably impact the value of sign-up bonuses.
