⏳️ FINAL BOARDING CALL - TIME-SENSITIVE
75k Points - Citi American Airlines Platinum Select

Recently the offer for this card got bumped up to the following:

  • 75k American Airlines miles after $3.5k spend in first 4 months

  • Annual fee: $0 first year, then $99

This is one of the best offers for this card, making it a strong contender for a 5/24 slot.

With the Alaska Airlines devaluation, American Airlines is likely the better program now. AA miles are harder to come by nowadays since most of their cards are not churnable, though some loopholes exist.

I’d jump on this offer if you value AA miles.

There’s a new bonus variation for one of the gold standards of business cards - Chase Ink Cash:

  • 35k pts after $3k spend in the first 3 months

  • 40k pts after $6k total spend in the first 6 months

  • 10% business relationship bonus on all cash back earned in the first year (requires Chase Business Checking account)

You now have 6 months to complete your $6k spend vs. the original 3 months, which is great for those with lower spend capacity.

As for this 10% bonus, it’s nothing to write home about. At best, your 5% category becomes 5.5%.

The opportunity cost of spending solely on this card for the 10% bonus is too high. Advanced players also know to avoid banking with Chase, though you only need a business checking account open just before the 1st anniversary.

TL;DR mostly same 75k offer with a more generous 6 months to meet your spend.

The best time to get a Chase Ink was yesterday. The 2nd best time to get a Chase Ink is today.

Everyone’s been talking about this new 3% cash-back card but until the final details come out, it’s all just marketing fluff.

Robinhood acquired X1 last year and this new card is just a rebrand of that card. The original X1 card capped your 3% back on $7,500 of spend per month.

As of now, all we know is:

  • Must have Robinhood Gold ($5/mo aka $60/yr)

  • No welcome bonus (yet), no annual fee, no foreign tx fees

  • 3% cash-back on “Eligible Purchases”

  • 5% back on a Robinhood travel portal

  • Points are valued at 1 cent and can be cashed out via Robinhood Brokerage

Keep an eye out for limitations for the 3% cash-back and what those “eligible purchases” actually are.

You only get a solid gold card 🙄 if you refer 10 friends to Robinhood Gold (not the credit card but the membership). There are 5,000 cards available after which you get a $1,100 consolation referral prize, making each referral worth $110.

In all seriousness, the value prop of Robinhood Gold lies in the 5% interest you get on your uninvested cash, making it one of the best high-interest accounts available today.

Robinhood Gold also offers a cash sweep program that insures your funds (FDIC) for up to $2.25 million. If you remember the recent collapse of Silicon Valley Bank, you know why this is important.

Learn more about Robinhood Gold here (referral). Otherwise, you can join the credit card waitlist for free here (direct).

Choice Privileges members can now use their points to book hotels with Preferred Hotels & Resorts.

Surprisingly, there’s great value to be found with some redemptions. In fact, some of them are even comparable with Hyatt redemptions, which is a tall order for loyalty programs nowadays.

Citi and Wells Fargo transfer to Choice at a 1:2 ratio and Preferred Hotels & Resorts redemptions are a fixed price between 20k-55k points.

Finding availability is a bit of an exercise and the most reliable method for accessing a calendar view takes a few steps but isn’t rocket science.

  1. Head to this Choice Hotels page and click “Start Booking”

  2. This opens up a buggy search tab. Click “View Hotel”

  3. You’re now stuck in a loop where your page keeps refreshing

  4. Right-click anywhere on the page and choose “View Page Source”

  5. Then search, (keyboard shortcut: ctrl+F), fieldSynxisId, which will return a unique ID. Copy this ID and paste it into the URL below without the brackets

  6. https://preferredhotels.com/choicepoints/book/hotel/[fieldSynxisId]

  7. Voila

Alternatively, you can use the following methods, but prices and availability may be slightly inaccurate:
