First-Class from Los Angeles to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific (renewed availability)

Cathay Pacific First-Class
Recently, Cathay Pacific award redemptions went through a sizable devaluation. With this, the airline promised to increase award availability which is starting to appear, if only on the airline’s own program.
We’re finally seeing a trickle of availability come back on a hugely popular route:
First-class from Los Angeles → Hong Kong.
At 125k points one-way, this route is more for those rich in points. However, for the aspiring traveler who’s determined to make this route a reality, there’s a game plan for you below.
Cathay’s first-class product withstands the test of time and is worth splurging on, points-wise, at least once.
First-class dinner includes an entire tin of caviar, and they even provide you a pillow menu for your rest throughout the flight. That’s enough to pique my interest.

Cathay Pacific has 4 transfer partners: AMEX, Citi, Capital One, Bilt.
With these options, what’s the fastest way for us mere mortals to achieve one of the highest tiers of flying?
There are 2 cards that got their bonuses bumped up to all-time highs or close to it.
Capital One Venture X - 90k points $4,000 spend in 3 months. This premium travel card gives great bang for its buck and comes with a $300 travel credit that nearly offsets the entire $395 annual fee.
AMEX Business Gold - 150k points for $10,000 spend in 3 months. This is the correct link but it’s difficult to pull up the offer. Try different browsers, incognitos, and VPNs (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge, Opera, DuckDuckGo, etc.).
For in-depth reviews of both cards, see here.
These 2 offers combined are enough for a round-trip first-class ticket from Los Angeles to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific.
How to find availability and book:
Head to Cathay Pacific and log in
Under ‘Book a trip' click ‘Redeem flights’
Fill out trip type and cabin class
For a calendar mini-view, click the ‘Departing on’ field and browse through the monthly previews. There will be little seat icons indicating the volume of availability on a specific day, if any.
Click your date for specific route options

Move quickly, neither the card offers nor availability will last!
