point.me - Free Award Search Tool Access For AMEX Cardholders

point.me partnered with American Express to give AMEX cardholders free access to a custom version of their award flight search tool.

This custom version only includes routes operated by airlines that are AMEX’s transfer partners and is not comprehensive. Bilt has the same thing specifically for their transfer partners.

If you weren’t previously using an award search tool, I suppose this is better than nothing. Just don’t expect it to be the end-all-be-all of award redemptions.

Huge 250k/200k AMEX Business Platinum Offers Found

As usual, no one can predict the cadence of AMEX offers. It felt like things were slowing down, then they slapped us awake with 200-250k bonuses.

The 250k bonus originally had a direct link but that died in 2-3 days. You have to be on your toes with these offers.

Apply first, figure everything else out later.

Fortunately, with some work, it seems the 250k offer can still be found online. As for the 200k offer, there’s a direct link below to see if you’re targeted.

Log in to see if you’re targeted. If you see “offer no longer available," you’re not targeted. If you’ve previously tried this, do it again as it seems a new batch of users are targeted.

Improved Hilton Card Offers, Notably Aspire 175k

AMEX’s Hilton cards recently saw improved offers:

• Hilton Aspire: 175k pts + free night cert
• Hilton Surpass: 155k pts
• Hilton No Annual Fee: 100k pts

This is a great card for Hilton loyalists given the revamped card benefits that occurred at the end of last year. Personally, the Hilton Aspire is the most interesting.

Here are some notable Aspire benefits that help offset the $550 annual fee:

• $200 semi-annual ($400 total) Hilton Resort Credit
• $189 CLEAR Plus credit

Etihad Gives 20-40% Bonus On Transferred Points - Capital One

Until 03/31, Etihad is giving up to 40% bonus miles on transferred points. The only participating US-based bank is Capital One.

Here are the bonus thresholds:

• 1k - 10k miles: 20% bonus
• 10k - 50k miles: 30% bonus
• 50k+ miles: 40% bonus

This is interesting timing given that AMEX also has a 20% Etihad transfer bonus.

Etihad is a solid program for speculative transfers and I’ll likely be moving some points over myself.

This differs for each person so familiarize yourself with the potential destinations. There are some niche redemptions you wouldn’t expect, which we covered in last week’s email.

However, remember that they made negative changes to their award cancellation policies:

• 21+ days: 25% fare penalty
• 8 - 21 days: 50% fare penalty
• 0- 7 days: 75% fare penalty

If you’re booking award flights, be extra sure your plans aren’t changing.
