AMEX Gold Changes Are Live

As expected, the AMEX Gold Card changes are live and as follows:

• Annual fee: $325

• $100 Resy credit ($50 semi-annually)

• $84 Dunkin’ credit ($7/mo)

• $120 dining credit ($10/mo on Five Guys, Grubhub, Cheesecake Factory, Goldbelly, Wine.com, Milk Bar thru 09/25, and select Shake Shack locations thru 09/25)

• 4x points on restaurants now capped at $50k/yr

• (OLD) $10 monthly Uber cash credit

It’s not too bad if you can use all these credits but personally, this feels like a nerf. The limited edition white-gold color is also available now.

The best offer you can find right now is:

• 100k Membership Rewards points after $6k spend in first 6 months

• 20% statement credit up to $100 on restaurants

Increased 75k + $250 SUB For Capital One Venture

The Capital One Venture card recently saw its offer increased to the following:

• 75k points after $4k spend in first 3 months

• $250 to use on Capital One Travel in your first cardholder year

It’s close to an all-time high as we’ve only briefly seen 80k and 100k.

If you’re interested in applying, keep in mind that they pull all 3 credit bureaus but you can get away with freezing Experian. They are also sensitive to hard pulls.

Citi Transfer Bonuses For Flying Blue (25%) and Wyndham (20%)

Until 08/17, Citi has the following transfer bonuses:

• 25% transfer bonus to Flying Blue

• 20% transfer bonus to Wyndham

You don’t see Wyndham bonuses often and it’s increasingly difficult to find worthwhile redemptions with the recent Wydnham nerfs. It’s an interesting option if you’re unable to open the Wyndham cards.

Flying Blue, on the other hand, still has some sweet spot redemptions, especially if their monthly promotions include premium cabin award space. Most people will be looking for US <> Europe routes.

Reasonably priced availability has been scarce as of late, but you can find:

• Air France biz class starting around 50k miles

• Virgin Atlantic biz class ~60k miles

• Short-haul domestic flights as low as ~15k miles
